Paragliding is one of the most easiest sport which you can enjoy, it is very simple way to fly in the sky. The para gliders can fly in the air for hours of the gliders and climb to altitudes, more than 10,000 feet high or more than that.

Physical fitness is necessary for this adventurous sport , you have be mentally strong and alert also, take care while riding you should know all the techniques, to handle complicated situation. If you are learning or new in this sport its beter to take proper training or trainer with you for your safety.

* Himachal Pradesh- Himachal Pradesh is the best place for paragliding, Dhaunlandhar ranges, Solang , Bijli Mahadev, and these sites can be approached from Kullu . Some other sites in Himachal Pradesh are Lahaul & Spiti, Arhaul -Anu and Garhalla.

* Uttranchal- Garwal makes paragliding paradise, with Great Himalayas, some important sites for paragliding are Nainital,Dayara Bugyal, Kumaon and many other sites for paragliding.

* Rajasthan- For paragliding,Rajasthan is also one the best place for the enjoyment, you can go to Jaisalmer, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udipur, Bikaner and Kota.

Chill Snow Skiing

Skiing, as an adventure sport, has come along way in India. It started out as a purely elitist sport, which provided the people an adventurous respite from heat of the plains. People from within India as well as all around the world flock to the country in large number to enjoy the pleasure of skiing. The fun, exicements and the thrill while down the down slopes of the Himalayas ranges in India, is one word," Fantastic".

There are many types of 'Ski', all are designed in for different situations-:

Alpine Ski- The original alpine 'downhill' skis were little more than glorified planks of wood. Metal edges were added to better grip the snow and ice of a ski and for durability. Downhill ski construction has evolved into much more sophisticated technologies.

Twin Tip Ski- Twin Tip Ski are skis with turned-up ends at both the front and rear. They make it easier ski backward allowing reversed take-off and landing when performing aerial manoeuvres.

Monoski- It is a double width that attacks to both feet in double front entry boots. Due its extra width and flotation, in deep snow , it is god for gripping.

Cross Country ski
- This is very light and narrow and usually have parallel edges, through some new skis have a slight side cut. Boots are attach to the bonding at the toe.

Mountain Biking in India

Riding a Bicycle has always been a source of thrill for the people who love cycling as an escapade. However, riding amidst adventurous surroundings of mountain peaks gives an adrenaline rush bringing the innermost adventure spree to the forefront. The exquisite and varied topography of India offers a wide scope for Mountain Biking, a land based adventure sport. For the riders seeking thrill and adventure with challenging rides, The Himalayan Ranges in India open doors to an unending panorama of some of the best sliding for mountain biking in the world. However to climb these alarming terrain one has to a skilled biker as its no cake walk.

Some of the important biking treks in Himalayan terrain are Kufri- Narkanda- Sungri- Jeori- Sangle- Karcham- Bhawanager- Sainj- Basantpur- Shimla, Kufri- Narkanda- Shemsher- Ghiagi- Koti- Chattru- Takcha- Rangrik- Tabo- Chango- Powari- Jeori- Sungri- Tiuni- Nerwa- Paonta Sahib, Kufri- Chaba- Kingal- Kelodhar- Alsindi- Basantpur- Kufri, Kufri- Narkanda- Nankhari- Sungri- Tiuni- Lakhawati- Paonta sahib.

The plenary terrain of Himachal Pradesh offers tremendous scope for adventurous escapades, although a challenging one, the friendly ecosystem here makes biking an absolute satisfaction. Some of the important tracks in Himachal Pradesh are:Nalagarh-Manali by surface (255 km), Manali-Solang Valley-Manali (26 km),
Manali-Naggar-Kullu (42 km), Kullu-Larji (34 km), Larji-Shoja (38 km), Shoja-Kahnag over Jalori Pass (3223 mt) (29 km), Khanag-Narkanda (2708 mts) (55 kms),
Narkanda-Shimla (2205 mts) (64 kms).

Although South India does not offer much excitement for Mountain Bikers yet the tea and coffee gardens are indeed a rare blend of adventure clubbed with serenity. The best biking trek in South India is Cochin-Munar-Chinnakanal-Vandanmedu-Periyar-Murinjapuzha-Vagamon-Erattupetta-Kottayam-Kumarakom.


Mountain Biking is different from usual biking in terms of precision and decision making skills. As Mountain biking is a high endurance activity, the general requirement for the same is physical fitness and stamina. The level of difficulty generally rises with increase in altitude. However, apart from the altitude, a number of factors determine the level of difficulty of a particular trail: distance to be covered, obstacles faced, inhospitable stretches, steep inclines, forest tracts, etc. Beginners are advised to go slower on narrow single tracks than you ordinarily would, until you get used to steering down such a confining course.

The best duration to experience Mountain Biking in India is October to December. The various Montain Cycling places in India are Almora,Nanital,Ranikhet, Rishikesh, Lahaul & Spiti, Kinnaur, Manali, Shimla, Leh, Ladakh, J&K. A mountain bike is a sophisticated vehicle and you will need to carry necessary equipment for ensuring a safe and comfortable ride. Apart from your mountain bike you will have to carry the following: Biking shoes, bike helmet, insulated gloves/waterproof gloves, cycling bags to carry essential material or your belongings, Lightweight, washable, insulated sports bottles for keeping beverages cool, collapsible water bags, first aid kit for long trails, sunglasses, insect/bug repellents and sunscreen lotions.
