Salal Dam and Lake, 95kms from Jammu to the west of the holy shrine of Vaishnav Devi, is the site for the largest hydro electricity project in Jammu and Kashmir. The dam has an installed capacity of 400 mw of electricity. The lake formed due to the dam is stretched over a distance of 33 km. The site can be visited with the permission of the project authorities.
